Florida TV Sender Plans To Launch New Network
Local News Station To Expand Reach With Over-The-Air Channel
WFTV To Broadcast On Channel 9.1 Starting In January
WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, Florida, is planning to launch a new over-the-air network in January. The new network, which will be called "WFTV+", will broadcast on channel 9.1 and will feature a mix of local news, weather, and entertainment programming.
The launch of WFTV+ is part of a larger trend of local TV stations expanding their reach through over-the-air channels. In recent years, several other local TV stations have launched their own over-the-air networks, including WGN-TV in Chicago, KTLA in Los Angeles, and WPIX in New York City.
The new network will be available to viewers in the Orlando area over-the-air with an antenna. It will also be available on cable and satellite TV providers.
