Prices for the new Audi A5 and S5 have been revealed

Audi has revealed prices for its new-generation A5 and S5, and change is very much afoot.

The entry-level A5 will start from £35,110 for the 40 TFSI Sport, while the top-spec 55 TFSI S line will set you back £46,640. The S5, meanwhile, starts from a rather more hefty £68,700.

These prices apply to the 150PS and 204PS 2.0-litre TFSI variants of the Saloon, with prices for the Cabriolet and Sportback to be announced at a later date.

We've already spotted the new A5 testing in prototype form, and these latest spy shots provide our first glimpse at the production-ready model. The new car is expected to be unveiled in full at the Paris Motor Show in October.

As you can see from the pictures, the new A5 is a much sleeker and more stylish car than its predecessor. The front end is dominated by a large grille that is flanked by sleek headlights. The side profile is characterized by a long, sloping roofline and muscular haunches. The rear end is clean and uncluttered, with a pair of slim taillights.

The interior of the new A5 is also a major step forward. The dashboard is dominated by a large infotainment screen that is flanked by a pair of digital gauges. The center console is clean and uncluttered, with a few simple buttons and knobs. The materials used throughout the cabin are of high quality, and the overall fit and finish is excellent.

The new A5 is expected to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines will likely include a 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter TFSI V6. The diesel engines will likely include a 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder and a 3.0-liter TDI V6.

The new A5 is expected to go on sale in early 2023. It will compete with the BMW 4 Series, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the Jaguar XE.
