The statement from Jack White on Twitter:

"I want to make it very clear that I do not want my music to be used in any way with this campaign," White wrote. "The use of 'Seven Nation Army' in this campaign is a blatant attempt to appropriate my music for political purposes, and I will not allow it." He continued, "This song was written from the heart, and it's meant to be used for good, not for the propagation of hate and division. I will not be associated with this campaign in any way, and I urge my fans to do the same."

The Trump campaign has not yet responded to White's statement.

The use of music without permission in political campaigns is a common occurrence, but it can be particularly controversial when the artist in question is outspokenly opposed to the candidate.
